Hi all. I meant to join after getting the email from WS. But with things happening, I didn't get around to it. It seems swimclub will be back again soon. But I register and post to "show willing".

Hi, I also completed the Lamlash Splash last year - thoroughly enjoyed it (and the beer / music afterwards). That's me (the heafty fella in the picture) climbing out of the water last year . I swam competitively until 1st year at University - so gave up when I was ~17 (that's about 20 years ago!!!). Hadn't done any training until last year - when I got back in the pool for ~10 weeks prior to the Lamlash swim. Fortunately the kind folk at Ayrodynamic (the local Ayr Triathlon Club) allowed me to train with them. Unfortunately, I've not managed any regular sessions since (maybe get in the pool once a week if I'm lucky). However, I'll need to get back into it as I've entered the 3K at Lake Windermere on 1st September - anyone elso going!

from what a gather swimclub was a very big site. i think i went there a long time ago when i was looking to see what other swimming forums were out there, at the time i never came across swimmingfourms but it seems to have been around for a long time too althought its managed to get a large member base unlike this site. The hardest bit of starting a site is promoting it, and I havent quite mastered that bit yet!  ;D
