Silicone or Latex Swim Cap ?

I am relatively new to swimming in fact I am going to do a swim course at the end of this month and i need to get some swim wear.

In the way of swim caps should I get a latex or silicone cap ?

I'm not too sure what the difference is between the two, I have one of each and can hardly tell them apart, I think the latex one is slightly thicker. Also, some people can be allergic to latex, so they would choose the silicone ones.

Heyyy,
My favorite is sililicone cause i think it stays on better than the other. When yew push off a wall yew dont have worry about it slidin off :)Hope that helps and good luck swimming :D

The only problem i have with swim caps is... I can't get them big enough! its a real struggle for them to cover my head and when its on it looks like it will pop off at any moment :o :laugh:

I prefer silicone. Comfortable and lasts longer. Although latex are better for competitions - very tight. If you a casual swimmer try lycra. They are very comfortable, but not suitable for races though.

Latex is stronger, thicker and tighter. Some people are allergic to this though. You as a starter can choose between any, not so much of demarcating differences between them.
