Open Water Swimming Events: Lake Windermere Swim

For Info - The Outdoor Swimming Society are hosting both 1.5k and 3k swims in Lake Windermere on Saturday September 1st. Apparently in the 3K you swim to an Island in the lake where you can take a break (hot drinks and biscuits) before embarking on the return leg! Full details at:

just worked out i'll be working on that day :( I do, however have the 28th, 29th, 30th september off, which is when the Holy Isle swim is  8)

Open Water Swimming Events - Derwent Water, Lake District (May 2010)

Just a quick note for those who love The Lakes - the Outdoor Swimming Society are hosting a two day event in Keswick Sat 22nd and Sunday 23rd May. The Saturday is classroom and lake based swimming clinics (beginer, intermediate or advanced) followed by a 1mile swim around Derwent Island on the Sunday. Water temp expected to be ~11C so wetsuits advised!

A Dip in the Dales, Saturday 21 August
 
Join us for a dip in the Dales, a one mile sponsored open water swim in aid of Sue Ryder Care. This will take place on Saturday 21 August at 10am in Semerwater, near Hawes, North Yorkshire.

                      Sea Palling open water sea swim- 14th August 2011

An Open Water Sea Swim of 1-mile along the reefs off the coast of Sea   Palling. The event includes a beach start with a dash into the sea and a   beach finish.

The use of wetsuits by swimmers is optional.

The swim starts at 9:30am. Registration will be open from 8:00am to 9:00am

All   finishers will receive a medal based on their swim time plus there will   be trophies for the male and female winners in the following   categories:
Juniors (U18)
Seniors (18 to 39)
Veterans (40 to 59)
Super Veterans (60+)
Minimum age is 14 (Note: all ages taken as of 31st December 2011)

In   the event of unsuitable sea conditions on the day preventing the swim   taking place then an alternative date will be announced.
