Well the sun was shining, the tide was in, the sea was surprisingly flat given the north gale that was blowing this morning, so i donned the wetsuit ( not as brave as wildswimmer ) and swam 4 lengths of Sannox Bay.
While I was having a rest floating and looking at the hills, a mini twister ( about 4m high) sucked a plume of sand into a spiral and continued sucking up water as it moved out to sea. You just don't see anything like that swimming in the pool! Also on my swim I was joined by a swan and two dogs!

Where is the most accurate place to find the sea temperature for the UK? I don't own a thermometer, but I might get a wee one

If the weather is ok tommorow morning I might try a swim from sannox jetty to the beach, its only about 500m, but i'm still building myself up
