Swimming in the pool, you feel nice and safe Smiley but out in the sea its a different story! I would say growing up on an island I have learned that the sea should be treated with respect and that when swimming in it you cant really be thinking your safe, you need to keep your wits about you.

When I first started swimming in the sea, i hated swimming over places where the bottom was black, because i couldnt see what was there, and i did not like that one bit  Shocked but gradually I overcame the "whats down there" fear and enjoy my swims in the sea Smiley

Does anyone else feel the same about swimming where u just cant see the bottom?

When i did my swim on arran I thoguht it was funny, although it was 100s of feet deep i could see jellyfish what seemed like miles down so that didnt feel so bad because then I knew i could see quite a way down Smiley

You wouldn't have liked it with me in the Mersey this afternoon.  Although now clean, Mersey water is very muddy - I couldn't see my arms in front of me.
