Lamlash Splash 2009

Are there any details about this year's event? i heard about this at the weekend and am interested in giving it a go. Any information would be appreciated.

hello, and welcome, I too am still waiting to find out info about it, the entry forms usually appear around this time :)

hi fajja,
 
i'm in glasgow. my mum has a caravan in lamlash and i get over there a few times a year. i think that the swim from holy isle will feel like a real achievement when completed. i've not done any open water swimming before so it's a good distance to try it out.

September 19th, 11.30am is the date and time
Entry fee: £20
Closing date: 1st September, places are limited to 30 swimmers so better be quick!

Swam a different course this year, ever so slightly longer! Again it was too rough forthe kayaks to go across the bay.
Was a pretty good turnout from what I remember. The guy that won it was off like a shot and I just couldn't catch him! My new wetsuit was awesome, apart from not having the velcro neck fastening on properly:
